Sherlock Holmes is a human being.

Sherlock Holmes is considered the world's greatest human detective. He lives in a house on 221B, Baker Street, in London; under it is the flat of the world's greatest mouse detective, Basil of Baker Street. Basil picked up several mannerisms from his human neighbour, including dressing habits and a tendency to play the violin when they are melancholy.

  • The few lines heard from Holmes in the 1986 film are taken from a decades-old recording of Basil Rathbone, one of the most well-known actors to have played Sherlock Holmes on screen and in radio programs.
